Gonzales leads Philippine delegation of 2016 Huawei Seed for the Future Program

Held Friday, October 28, 2016 in Shenzhen, People's Republic of China, the graduation ceremony of Filipino students participating in the 2016 Huawei Philippines Seeds for the Future Program.

At the ceremony, Kurt Danielle Gonzales, representatives of the Philippine delegation from the Mapúa Institute of Technology, during the two-week project, they learned modern theories regarding ICT and tested the products of Huawei Technologies in the field. He said it would help them in their studies and future careers. Moreover, he also found the magnificent and splendid culture and history of China.

David Harmon, Vice President of Global Public Affairs Department of Huawei, expounded that the development of ICT will serve to strengthen the relationship between different sectors of society and to promote reforms in areas such as energy, transportation, health, and administrative functions. He said that the "Seeds for the Future" is an international project of Huawei to provide assistance in the development of ICT in more places overseas. In 2016, the project was conducted in 85 countries and regions. He said it increased by 25 countries compared to 2015.

The Philippine delegation, who arrived in Beijing on 15th October, is composed of 11 students from the Mapúa Institute of Technology, De La Salle University, Ateneo De Manila University, University of Cebu and University of Southeastern Philippines-Davao City. From the 16th to the 21st of October, the Filipino students had a basic course on Chinese Culture at the Beijing Language and Culture University. After that, they went to Shenzhen to accept the practice of Huawei from the 21st to 28th of this month.
